Battles Through History Mascots
Turning a 2D mascot into a pair of hand-painted 3D ambassadors for one of the UK's largest historical modelling events.
Bringing Brock to Life
For the Battles Through History 2026 event, I created two physical versions of Brock, the event's illustrated badger mascot.
Working from the original artwork, I digitally sculpted two characters: Brock the British redcoat and Brock the pirate. Every part of the models was designed in 3D before being printed, hand finished and carefully painted to match the original illustrations while also working as physical objects that can be viewed from every angle.
Although faithful to the original artwork, some details needed to be reimagined for a three-dimensional model. Uniforms, equipment and proportions were adjusted so the mascots remain instantly recognisable while feeling natural as freestanding figures.
Standing approximately 12 cm tall, the finished mascots are large enough to catch visitors' attention while remaining compact enough to travel easily to exhibitions, appear in promotional photography and feature in videos.
The mascots will be appearing at the 2026 Battles Through History show alongside my humorous diorama, Battle for the Throne, which was also created especially for the event. If you're visiting the show, keep an eye out for both the Brocks and my latest miniature creation.
